About Role 

 We currently have an exciting opportunity to work full time  (37 hours) and  part time  (30 hours)  in Russell Street, Cambridge. The role is to support adults with learning disabilities to lead independent and secure lives.

 The starting salary for this position is between £11.18 and £11.39 per hour. We pay extra for weekends and public holidays. 

 

 Cambridgeshire County Council is committed to providing quality home care and support for adults with learning disabilities. Our services are shelter and assisted living, providing housing and support for adults with learning disabilities. The service is available 24/7.

 

 Appointment to this position is subject to the outcome of enhanced information obtained through the Disclosure and Blocking Service. The Council is committed to protecting and promoting the well-being of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. 

 

  

 

 What  you gonna do

's support staff assists service users in all aspects of their care, with a particular focus on developing and maintaining their independence, skills and well-being. A good understanding of equal opportunities and a human-centric approach to diversity are  essential. 

 

 In return we offer excellent training  to gain new knowledge and experience with the opportunity to be part of a supportive and energetic team dedicated to providing excellent service to adults with learning disabilities.

 

 The role is to administer medication and provide personal assistance. In your role, your working hours  include: 

 2 nights a  month. 

 Bank Holidays 

 You  also need to be flexible with all  the services  we offer in Cambridge. 

 

 About You 

 Support Workers will be in regular contact with service users, families, other professionals and partner agencies, so this role requires you to have excellent oral and written communication skills, including computer literacy.Also, you need  a sensitive and professional approach that demonstrates an understanding of confidentiality in the workplace and outside of work.
